Rogue Warriors:
Season Two, Episode Twelve

By Andy Dunn

Carol looked at the warship’s engine core with extreme fear. The core itself was filled with lots of light beams. They were moving round in circles at a constant rate.

“What’s wrong, Carol?” asked Simon with concern.

Carol’s started to well up in tears.

“It’s the life forces of every single Polymorph in the universe,” she sobbed.

Simon then gasped as his eyes widened.

“Are you saying that whatever’s left of your people is in that engine core?” he asked.

“Yes” sobbed Carol.

Simon took another look at the core.

“The Metrolians must be using their life force to produce power to this ship,” he concluded.

Carol then realised something.

“Simon, they have Cathy. They could extract her life force and place it within this core” she stated fearfully.

“Oh my god!” said Simon fearfully.

“We have to help Chucky rescue her now!” stated Carol.

Simon and Carol quickly left engineering and searched for Chucky.

*

Cathy woke from her slumber. She was in a large glass tube. She was in a science lab. Around her outside the tube were high tech computers. A pipeline was attached to the top of the tube and it led outside of the lab. Several Metrolian troopers were in the lab as they worked on the computers.

General Deathcall approached.

“So, is it ready yet?” he asked.

“Not yet, sir. The Polymorph doesn’t appear to show any signs of losing all hope,” stated a trooper.

“Don’t worry, trooper. I’ll make sure that this Polymorph will deplete its hope for survival before this battle is done” stated General Deathcall determinedly.

“It’s gonna take a lot to bring my hopes down. Chucky or the others will rescue me and then we’re gonna bring down your filthy Empire” stated Cathy with determination and anger.

“Ha! Chucky will help you? Pah! I’m sure that he’ll get killed as soon as he steps foot on this ship. As for your friends, well… I wouldn’t count on them rescuing you. I’m sure that they’ve forgotten you already. They’ll all be killed when this battle is over!” stated General Deathcall determinedly.

Cathy then started to feel saddened.

“Sir, the hope level is dropping fast,” stated a trooper as he worked on his station.

“Good. When it reaches critical levels, extract the life force,” ordered General Deathcall.

Suddenly, the doors exploded. Chucky emerged from the smoke.

“Chucky!” shouted Cathy happily.

“Damn you Rogue Warriors!” shouted General Deathcall angrily.

“Sir, The Polymorph’s heartbeat has greatly increased. We cannot continue with the procedure at this state,” stated a trooper as he worked on his station.

Chucky angrily entered the room.

The Metrolian troopers raised their weapons towards Chucky.

Chucky glared at them.

“Wait! Don’t shoot! I’ll deal with him myself!” ordered General Deathcall determinedly.

Chucky then approached General Deathcall with anger.

“I’m gonna make you pay for taking Cathy away from me!” stated Chucky angrily.

“Are you now? Well come on then! Give me your best shot!” Stated General Deathcall determinedly.

Cathy looked on with concern.

Chucky took a deep breath. He then got out his gun and started to shoot at General Deathcall, but every bullet was shot out of the air by General Deathcall’s machine guns.

“Ha! Come on, Chucky! Let’s make this interesting!” said General Deathcall with an evil smirk on his face.

“What do you mean!” shouted Chucky.

“Let’s not use any weapons and have a good old fashioned fist fight!” suggested General Deathcall as he raised his fists.

Cathy looked on extremely frightened.

Chucky then looked at his gun but then chucked it away and slowly raised his fists in anger.

“Come on now, boy. Bring it!” demanded General Deathcall as he stood in attack posture.

Chucky then charged at General Deathcall with determination and anger with no signs of stopping.

General Deathcall suddenly fired two rocket launchers at the floor just two steps away from Chucky’s feet, which hurled him to the other side of the room.

“CHUCKY!!!” screamed Cathy with great fear.

Chucky landed on his back and groaned as he tried to get up.

General Deathcall approached and placed his foot hard on Chucky’s chest.

“It’s time for you to die, you mutant freak!” stated General Deathcall angrily as he aimed his rocket launcher at Chucky’s forehead.

Sweat poured down Chucky’s face, but he continued to glare at General Deathcall.

Cathy continued to watch in fear as tears started to form in her eyes.

Before General Deathcall could kill Chucky, Carol and Simon started to shoot at the Metrolian troopers as they stormed in the room.

“WHAT THE HELL?!!” yelled General Deathcall.

The Metrolian troopers attempted to fight off Simon and Carol.

Before General Deathcall could react, Chucky managed to grab the General’s leg and force his body weight down onto Deathcall’s kneecap, which caused it to snapped through the joint.

General Deathcall dropped to the ground and screamed in agony. Simon and Carol killed all the rest of the troopers in the room.

General Deathcall tried to crawl out of the room, but Chucky picked up his gun, quickly approached and pointed it towards him.

“Say hi to the devil for me! Tell him I sent you!” said Chucky with anger.

He then shot and killed General Deathcall.

Simon and Carol worked on a computer and released Cathy.

Cathy hugged Carol and Simon and then she ran up to hug Chucky.

The force of the hug knocked them both to the floor.

“Thanks for rescuing me guys” she said happily.

“No problem. It was Chucky’s idea,” said Simon.

“I suspected as much,” said Cathy as she continued to embrace Chucky happily.

“Come on we need to get outta here” said Chucky as he got up.

They all then headed back to their shuttle.

*

Meanwhile back on the Enterprise, certain structures fell and some sparks flew from stations.

“We are losing forward shields, Charles,” said Vicky as she worked on her station.

“Make a full rotation from the aft shields. Dave, target the flanking battleship and fire on my mark” ordered Charles.

“No problem” said Dave with determination.

“Helen, begin evasive manoeuvres beta three now!” ordered Charles.

“Right!” said Helen as she worked on her station.

The Enterprise then dodged some lasers and got closer to their target.

“Fire now, Dave!” ordered Charles.

The Enterprise opened fire towards the targeted battleship. After several hits, the battleship was destroyed.

“Nice shooting, Dave” praised Charles.

“Thanks. It’s what I do best” posed Dave.

“Dave, now’s not the time to pose,” said Vicky angrily.

“Enterprise, I’m detecting one of your shuttles exiting the warship” stated Zeus through the communicator.

“Thanks, professor. We’ll guide it in,” said Charles through the communicator.

“I’ve just scanned the shuttle. It’s Simon, Chucky and Carol and they’ve rescued Cathy,” stated Helen.

“What was Carol doing with them? I thought Simon wanted her to stay here,” asked Vicky all confused.

“Well it turns out like they needed her help” concluded Charles.

“They’re approaching the shuttle bay now” stated Helen as she worked on her station.

*

The Enterprise shuttle landed in the shuttle bay. Simon, Chucky, Carol and Cathy exited the shuttle.

They all made their way towards the bridge.

They then entered the bridge. Charles, Dave, Vicky and Helen looked at them with relief.

“Thank goodness you’re all ok,” said Helen.

“Thanks, Helen. By the way, we’ve got some good news and some bad news as well,” stated Simon.

“What’s the good news?” asked Vicky.

“The good news is that all we need to do is destroy the Emperor’s warship. When that happens, the entire Metrolian race will be killed,” explained Simon.

“How is that going to be possible?” asked Charles.

“All Metrolian troopers have cybernetics in their brains. We discovered that they are linked to the warship’s mainframe computer. If we destroy the warship, then the circuits in their brains will short circuit and shut down,” explained Carol.

The Rogue Warriors then looked happier.

“Alright then. Lets destroy that warship now!” suggested Dave confidently.

“We can’t destroy the ship,” stated Simon.

“Why not?” asked Charles.

“Well, that’s the bad news,” said Simon.

“What?” asked Vicky.

“Carol and I have discovered all the life forces of the Polymorph race are within their engine core. The Metrolians are using their life forces to power up the warship,” explained Simon.

“WHAT!?” yelled Cathy.

“How could they do that?” asked Helen fearfully.

“Isn’t their some way we could help them?” asked Chucky.

They all then thought for a moment.

“If I could make a suggestion?” asked Zeus through the communicator.

“Professor? How long were you listening?” asked Vicky.

“I’ve only heard what I need to know. Anyway, why don’t we disable the warship, board their ship and attempt to extract the Polymorphs from their engine core. We could store their life forces into some containment barrels and figure out how to bring them back to life” explained Zeus.

They all then thought for a moment.

“You know, that isn’t a bad idea, Professor,” praised Charles.

“Yeah. This plan just might work” praised Vicky.

“We could bring our people back to life?” asked Cathy with hope in her eyes.

“Yeah” said Carol happily.

“Couldn’t we just destroy the ship?” asked Dave.

“It’s too risky, Dave. We don’t even know if their life forces will even survive the explosion,” explained Simon.

Chucky looked on with slight grief.

“So… if we bring the Polymorphs back to life, then… Cathy and Carol couldn’t stay here? They would have to… leave?” he asked with slight grief.

“They probably would,” said Simon.

Chucky then just ran out of the bridge. Cathy looked on with concern.

“What’s wrong with him?” she asked.

“I’m gonna find out” said Simon as he ran after Chucky.

*

Chucky ran towards the main quarters corridor. Simon caught up with him.

“Chucky, what’s wrong with you?” he asked.

Chucky then stopped.

“You heard what’s going to happen. Cathy and Carol’s gonna leave us to be with their kind” he stated angrily.

“Oh my god. Chucky, stop being so selfish. You should be happy for them” stated Simon angrily.

“How can I be happy? I’m never gonna be able to see her again! How can you accept this? You won’t be able to see Carol again!” stated Chucky angrily.

“Yes. I’m aware that I won’t be able to see Carol again. Do you think that this is easy for me as well? You have to realise that if you care for someone so deeply, and if they have a chance to go back to their kind when they haven’t seen them for over a year, then you’ll have to let them go” explained Simon.

Chucky then took a deep breath and thought for a moment.

“You’re right, Simon. We should let them go back to their kind when we save them” stated Chucky.

Cathy and Carol then approached them.

“Are you two alright?” asked Carol with concern.

“Yeah. We were just discussing about the current situation,” said Chucky.

They both approached the girls.

“Look. We both understand that when we all rescue your people, you’ll want to go back with them. And quite frankly, we think you should” stated Simon.

Cathy and Carol then looked at each other and thought for a moment.

“No” they both said.

“What?” asked Simon and Chucky in disbelief.

“We said no,” said Cathy.

“But, we could save your entire race. You could be reunited with your old friends, your entire family and even your own parents! How can you say no to that?” exclaimed Simon all confused.

“Simon’s right! You’ll have no other reason to stay here with us. You should be with your kind and live happily,” reasoned Chucky.

Cathy then approached Chucky.

“We made up our minds weeks ago and we’re not gonna leave you both” stated Cathy.

“No matter what the situation is, we’re gonna stay with you both forever” stated Carol happily.

Cathy then hugged Chucky whilst Carol kissed Simon.

Simon started to get a headache.

“AH! OW!” he yelled in pain as he fell to the floor.

“Oh no! What’s wrong, Simon?” asked Carol with great concern.

Chucky, Cathy and Carol went to Simon’s aid.

Simon then closed his eyes and thought back to his nightmare.

It revealed that he placed some explosives on a metal floor casing and armed them himself. He then stood by Cathy as the explosion blew them up.

Simon then opened his eyes and looked at Cathy with great fear. Sweat poured down his face.

“What’s wrong, Simon” asked Carol all concerned.

“My… My nightmare! I… I remember… Cathy was with me in the explosion” stated Simon fearfully.

Cathy then looked frightened.

“This could be more serious than I thought,” said Chucky with concern.

They all then helped Simon up. Simon wiped the sweat from his face.

“Maybe you should rest in your quarters for a while” suggested Chucky.

“No, no I’ll be fine. I’m gonna help you guys on the bridge” stated Simon.

Carol, Simon and Chucky started to make their way towards the bridge.

Chucky noticed that Cathy wasn’t with them. He approached her.

“What’s wrong, Cathy?” he asked with concern.

“Nothing. I’m just going to think in my quarters for a while. Simon’s nightmare kinda scarred me a bit,” stated Cathy as she made her way to her quarters.

“Ok” said Chucky with concern.

He then made his way to the bridge.

*

The battle continued to rage. Most of the Metrolian ships had been destroyed.

The Warship remained virtually undamaged.

The Slethearian ships were heavily damaged. The Enterprise had taken too much damage of its outer hull.

Zeus’s ship continued to fight the Metrolian fighters.

The Rogue Warriors continued to work on the bridge.

Charles broke a cold sweat as he thought on the captain’s chair.

“There must be a weak spot somehow on that warship,” he thought to himself.

“Hull integrity’s at 45%. We can’t take anymore hits, Charles,” stated Simon.

“There has to be something we can do to disable the warship,” stated Vicky.

Chucky then pondered for a moment.

“Charles, we have to focus our attack on the warship,” he stated.

“That’s exactly what we’re doing, but our lasers won’t penetrate the shield!” stated Dave angrily.

“That’s because only we’re targeting the warship. If we order Zeus and all of the Slethearian ships to target there as well in a concentrated pattern, it might tear a hole in the warships field and expose the hull,” explained Chucky.

They all then thought for a moment.

“It could work,” said Helen.

“We might as well give it a try,” said Carol.

“Alright then. Chucky, where should we target?” asked Charles.

“Let’s target the main computer core. It should disable the warship entirely,” suggested Chucky.

“Dave, have you got that?” asked Charles.

“Yep. I’ve got a lock on target” stated Dave as he worked on his station.

“Ok. Simon, open hail frequencies to all the ships” ordered Charles.

Simon worked on his station.

“Channel open, Charles” said Simon.

“This is Charles, captain of the Enterprise. This is a direct order to all ships. Target all of your weapons on the warship’s main computer core. Fire on my command” ordered Charles.

There was a slight pause.

“The fleet’s responded, Charles. They’re standing by,” said Simon as he worked on his station.

Charles then looked at the view screen. It revealed that Zeus’s ship and the Slethearian ships held their positions. The Metrolian warship continued to fire at the Slethearian ships.

“Fire!” ordered Charles.

The Enterprise then opened fire towards the Emperor’s warship. Seconds later, Zeus’s ship and the Slethearian ships opened fire on the warship as well. They all hit the same area of the warship in a concentrated pattern.

A few seconds later, the laser blasts punctured a hole in the warship’s shields and hit the outer hull.

A few moments later, the concentrated attack greatly damaged the hull of the warship and damaged the main computer core. All the lights on the warship were suddenly extinguished. The warship was now disabled.

“The ship’s disabled” said Chucky happily as he worked on his station.

Everyone on the bridge let out a cheer.

“The Slethearians are hailing us,” said Simon as he worked on his station.

“Put it on screen” ordered Charles.

The Slethearian general appeared on the view screen.

“Congratulations, Rogue Warriors. The Emperor’s warship is disabled,” he stated happily.

“Thanks, General. But it’s not over yet. We’re gonna board that ship and try to bring the Polymorphs back to life if it’s possible” explained Charles.

“Well, good luck with that. I would help you, but we must head back for Slethearian and help my comrades retake our planet. I hope your mission will be successful” saluted the General.

“I hope yours will be too” saluted Charles.

The Slethearian General then disappeared from the view screen.

A few seconds later, all the remaining Slethearian ships warped into space.

“Simon, hail the warship,” ordered Charles.

“No problem, Charles” said Simon as he worked on his station.

The Emperor appeared on the view screen. The background area looked heavily damaged.

“It’s over, Emperor. Your ship is completely disabled. Prepare to be boarded. You have lost!” stated Charles confidently.

“Damn you Rogue Warriors! Enjoy this minor victory while you can! I still have one more trick up my sleeve!” shouted the Emperor angrily.

“What do you mean!” asked Dave angrily.

“You may have defeated me and my army, but thanks to the life forces of the Empire’s greatest and long time enemy, the Polymorphs, I am able to launch my deadliest attack! Goodbye, Rogue Warriors!” explained the Emperor with an evil grin.

He then disappeared from the view screen.

Everyone on the bridge looked at each other all confused.

“What did he mean by that?” asked Helen confusingly.

“Maybe he’s bluffing,” suggested Dave.

The Emperor’s warship then powered up.

Zeus looked on from his ship in fear.

“This is impossible! That warship has just powered up and is showing a tremendous amount of energy,” he stated through the communicator.

“What do you mean, Professor?” asked Carol.

“My sensors are reading a great increase of nuclear activity within the warship’s weapon systems. The plutonium levels are off the scale!” stated Zeus with great fear.

“What is he doing?” asked Chucky.

“Hang on. I can hack into his target systems from my ship” said Zeus as he worked on his station.

His View screen showed the star cluster.

“Oh my god! He’s gonna destroy that radioactive star cluster” stated Zeus with fear.

Everyone on the Enterprise Bridge then gasped.

“He’s crazy!” shouted Chucky.

“Professor, what happens if the Emperor does launch his nuclear weapons?” asked Charles cautiously.

“My scanners are indicating millions of nuclear warheads within the warships weapon systems. If he…”.

“Hold on… Nuclear warheads? How come we didn’t detect them before?” interrupted Vicky.

“I don’t know… It must’ve been some sort of cloaking technology that surrounded them. Anyway, if he manages to launch them, they’ll completely destroy that star cluster. And the chain reaction will cause the cluster to emit a level 75 shockwave!” explained Zeus.

“But that’s enough power to destroy the entire galaxy!” stated Chucky.

“Not just this galaxy, Chucky. But a few other galaxies along with it!” explained Zeus.

“He’s insane! He’ll kill himself and his Empire in the process!” stated Simon.

“I don’t think he’ll kill himself, Simon,” said Zeus.

“What?” asked Simon all confused.

“Zeus is right, Simon. Sensors are reading that the warship’s shields are now beyond any known type. I don’t think that a sun going super nova will destroy that thing,” explained Chucky fearfully.

“Well, then his entire Empire will be destroyed and he’ll be left with nothing,” stated Charles.

“No. The Emperor shares his technologies with the entire Empire. It is likely they have something similar to protect themselves all over the universe” explained Carol.

The others then looked at Carol with confusion.

“Well, why didn’t they use this type of shielding before?” asked Vicky.

“They would only use it in extreme circumstances. Like if something like this would happen,” explained Carol.

They all then looked back at the view screen in fear.

“Professor? How long do you think it’ll take before the Emperor can open fire on that star cluster?” asked Chucky cautiously through the communicator.

“I estimate that he’ll launch his nuclear warheads in about 45 minutes” estimated Zeus.

“What can we do?” asked Helen fearfully.

Simon then got another headache.

“AH! OW!” he yelled in pain as he fell to the floor.

Everyone on the bridge went to his aid.

“Simon, are you alright?” asked Carol with concern.

Simon then closed his eyes and could only think back to his nightmare.

It revealed that he piloted the Enterprise shuttle and landed on the warship. He and Cathy went outside the shuttle with their spacesuits on. Simon then placed explosives on the hull and armed them. He then looked up into space and saw a bright green laser beam that closed on him. Before it hit the warship, Simon then opened his eyes.

He quickly got up and looked breathed heavily in fear.

“Are you ok, Simon?” asked Carol with concern.

“I’m fine. I know what I have to do,” he said suddenly.

“What is it?” asked Chucky.

“My nightmare. It wasn’t a dream. It was a vision. A premonition” realised Simon.

“A Premonition?” asked Vicky all confused.

“Yes. It was showing me what I have to do to save us,” explained Simon.

“What are you talking about?” asked Dave.

“I’m saying… I have to leave the ship,” pondered Simon.

“Don’t be silly, Simon. We can find a way to destroy the warship if we all stick together” stated Charles.

“I’m sorry, but I have to do this,” said Simon.

He then ran out of the bridge.

“Simon? Hey, Simon, comeback” called Carol with concern.

*

Simon made his way to the quarters to find Cathy.

Cathy then left her quarters and spotted Simon.

“What’s the rush, Simon?” she asked.

“Cathy. I know what we have to do to save the universe,” stated Simon.

“What?” asked Cathy.

“My dreams. They weren’t dreams at all. They were premonitions of things to come,” explained Simon.

There was a slight pause.

“I know, Simon,” said Cathy.

“What? How do you know?” asked Simon.

“Because I had the exact same dream as you” stated Cathy.

“Why didn’t you tell me or the others before?” asked Simon.

“Because I thought I was going crazy. I thought it was just a simple dream, until you started getting flashbacks of it. It was only then I realised what we have to do to save the universe,” explained Cathy.

There was a slight pause.

“Come on. We have to pack all the explosives in the shuttle and arm them at the warship, before the Emperor launches all of the nuclear weapons at the star cluster” stated Simon.

Cathy and Simon quickly made their way into the shuttle bay.

*

Cathy and Simon entered the shuttle bay.

They put on their spacesuits and started to load the explosives in the shuttle.

Carol entered the shuttle bay.

“Cathy? Simon? What do you think you’re doing?” she asked with great fear.

Simon then approached her.

“Carol, you have to understand. This is the only way to save the universe” assured Simon.

“By going over to the warship and blowing yourselves up?” asked Carol as she began to cry.

“I’m sorry, but there isn’t any other way. Please don’t cry. Just remember one thing. I’ll always be with you” assured Simon.

He then kissed Carol on the lips.

Afterwards, Simon got his space helmet and ran inside the shuttle.

“No! NO!” cried Carol as the shuttle took off and left the Enterprise.

*

The Enterprise shuttle got closer towards the warship.

The warship’s turrets and other weapon systems started glow light green.

“We’ve got about 30 minutes left,” said Simon as he worked on his station.

“The warship’s shields are at maximum power, Simon,” stated Cathy as she worked on her station.

“The only way we can get through is by charging at it full speed. That is how we got through to save you,” explained Simon.

Simon then worked on his station.

“Simon, Cathy! What do you think you’re doing!?” shouted Charles through the communicator.

“Don’t try and talk us out of this, Charles. This is the only way!” explained Simon through his communicator.

“What the hell are you talking about?!” shouted Charles through the communicator.

Simon and Cathy ignored him and proceeded to the warship.

“Simon? Cathy? ANSWER ME, DAMMIT!!!” yelled Charles through the communicator.

The shuttle charged at the warship at full speed and penetrated the shields.

The shuttle then landed on the warships hull shortly afterwards.

“Ok, lets get these explosives ready” said Simon as he put on his space helmet.

“Wait, Simon, open the doors,” said Cathy as she got her space helmet on.

Simon then opened the shuttle doors.

Cathy ran outside on the warship’s hull.

Her bracelet started to glow.

She then turned into a giant bubble that completely surrounded the warship.

The glowing on the warship’s weapon systems suddenly froze.

An aura suddenly surrounded Simon as he exited the shuttle with the explosives.

*

Carol ran back into the Enterprise Bridge extremely tearful.

Charles punched the arms of his chair and growled in frustration.

“What the hell are they trying to accomplish by going onto that warship?!” asked Dave in confusion.

“I have no idea. But something has completely surrounded the ship shortly after they landed on it” stated Chucky as he worked on his station.

“Can’t we communicate with them?” asked Helen.

It’s hard to establish a link. I have to boost the signal” said Vicky as she worked on her station.

“I’ll keep trying. Simon? Cathy? Can you read me? Tells us what the hell’s going on!” ordered Charles through his communicator.

“Don’t worry, everyone” said Cathy as her voice echoed through the Enterprise Bridge.

“What’s the? Cathy?” asked Charles all confused.

“Yes, it’s me. I’ve turned myself into a gigantic stasis bubble and I have trapped the warship in time. The ship has completely frozen. I can hold on like this for a while but not forever. This is our only chance to react. Simon is setting up explosives as I speak. When he’s ready, fire all weapons on our position,” explained Cathy as her voice echoed.

“But if we open fire, the explosion will kill you both” stated Charles fearfully.

“We must figure something out to save them,” stated Vicky.

“Look everyone, we’re running out of time as it is! We can not discuss this any further!” shouted Simon through the communicator.

Helen started to get tearful.

Chucky stared blankly at the view screen in complete shock.

“You guys have to be strong. We cannot allow the Emperor to destroy half the universe just because he’s lost this war. If you guys hesitate now for too long, trillions of innocent lives will be lost,” explained Simon through the communicator.

“S- Simon… C- Cathy…?” said Vicky weakly until she burst into tears.

“Simon? The star cluster is only 750,000 miles east of our location. The nuclear warheads will ignite when the ship explodes. Wouldn’t the nuclear explosion hit the star cluster in the middle of the process?” asked Zeus cautiously through the communicator.

“I don’t think so, professor. Hopefully it’ll turn this small area of space into a radioactive nebula” explained Simon through the communicator.

“Please, You’re running out of time. The time to act is now!” stated Cathy as her voice echoed through the bridge.

“No! We have to find a way to get them off the ship!” sobbed Carol in protest.

“I know what I have to do,” said Chucky with extreme grief.

Everyone on the bridge then stared at Chucky.

“I have to open fire on them. This is going to be really hard for me to do… so… I’m asking if you called all leave the bridge, please?” asked Chucky with extreme grief.

“Ok, Chucky” said Charles quietly.

Dave, Helen, Charles, Vicky and Carol left the Bridge.

Chucky made his way to Dave’s station with great grief.

Simon continued to set and arm the explosives on the warships hull.

“Chucky, target all of the weapons onto my location and prepare to open fire,” ordered Simon through the communicator.

Chucky then slowly worked on Dave’s station.

All of the Enterprises laser turrets targeted the warship.

“I am sending all of my available power to your weapon systems, Chucky. That should destroy every trace of the warship,” stated Zeus as he worked on his station.

Charles, Dave, Vicky, Carol and Helen looked on from the observation area with grief. Carol, Vicky and Helen continued to cry whilst they held on to each other.

Simon set and armed the last explosive on the warship’s hull.

“Alright, Chucky. Fire!” ordered Simon through the communicator.

Chucky then shook away his grief and looked at the view screen with determination.

“Right!” he said determinedly.

He then went to press the fire buttons but suddenly stopped.

“Huh?” he said.

He then struggled with his mind to open fire.

“Come on!” he struggled.

His eyes then started to well up over the thought of shooting Cathy.

He continued his hesitation until he finally burst into tears.

“NOOO!!!” he yelled as punched a hole in the wall next to him.

He then looked at his hurt hand and continued to cry.

“N-no… I… I just can’t do it,” sobbed Chucky.

“Th-this is impossible. I won’t do this to you and Cathy. It’s just too damn difficult!” sobbed Chucky.

He then looked up at the view screen.

“There has to be another way,” whimpered Chucky.

“I’m sorry, but there isn’t,” said Simon through the communicator.

“GOD DAMMIT, SIMON! THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER FUCKING WAY!!!” yelled Chucky with rage and sorrow.

There was a slight pause.

“Chucky, listen to me. I know this is difficult. And I don’t like this anymore than you. But we have no choice, now. We can’t hesitate any longer. Trillions of lives are stake here. You have to fire, now!” explained Simon.

“But it’s too hard. I… I don’t want to open fire!” whimpered Chucky.

“You have to, Chucky. Don’t worry. Cathy and I know what we’re doing. We all knew the risks we would have to take. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Cathy would’ve wanted you to do this if the need arose. And now it has, so you have to do this for her! ” reasoned Simon.

There was another pause.

“I… I’m aware of that. But… I still don’t want to kill her,” sobbed Chucky.

“Chucky” echoed Cathy throughout the bridge.

“You have to fire, Chucky. You’ll save the entire universe. Don’t worry about me. I’m not worth it,” explained Cathy as her voice echoed.

“Cathy? D-don’t say th-that. You’re more worth it to me than you think. I… I d-don’t want to lose you ” sobbed Chucky.

“You won’t, Chucky. I want you to shoot me. Now!” stated Cathy as her voice echoed.

Chucky then gasped fearfully.

Zeus started to look on with grief.

“I CAN’T DO IT!!” yelled Chucky with sorrow.

Everyone on the observation area looked on with extreme grief.

“Because…” whimpered Chucky.

Simon started to shed a tear as he looked on from the warship’s hull.

“Cathy, I…I LOVE YOU!!!” yelled Chucky with sorrow as tears rolled down his cheeks.

A few seconds later, Chucky then closed his eyes and punched the fire buttons.

All the laser turrets fired laser beams simultaneously. They all charged towards the warship. They then converged into each other to form one large laser beam.

“NOOOOOO!!!” yelled Chucky with tears that heavily rolled down his face.

As the giant laser got closer to the warship, Simon looked up into space in tears. He then started to laugh.

A few seconds later, the laser beam hit the warship which destroyed it completely, and a large mushroom cloud slowly formed which was the size of two gas giant planets.

Fortunately however, the Enterprise and Zeus’s ship was just outside the blast radius, though their ships were shaken slightly.

A few moments later, a bright light emerged from the mushroom cloud and engulfed the area. It also engulfed the Enterprise Bridge and lifted Chucky away from Dave’s station.

“Wh… What’s going on?” he whimpered.

He was then alone.

“Wh… Where am I?” he whimpered.

Just then, Cathy floated down from above.

“Thank you so much, Chucky!” she said with her eyes filled up with love.

“C-Cathy?” asked Chucky in his tears and in disbelieve.

“Yes, it’s me,” said Cathy happily.

Chucky then ran up and embraced Cathy as tight as he could.

Cathy returned the hug as her eyes welled up in tears.

“I’m so happy to see that you’re still alive,” exclaimed Chucky tearfully.

“Chucky… I’m sorry, but I’m not alive,” choked Cathy as she broke the hug.

“What? Then how come you’re standing in front of me?” asked Chucky tearfully.

“Before the laser beam hit the warship, I made a wish that I could see you one last time” explained Cathy with a smile on her tearful face.

“A-are you saying that th-this is the last time that we’ll… see each other?” asked Chucky with fear.

“I’m afraid so,” said Cathy tearfully.

Chucky then embraced her again and started to cry harder.

“Isn’t there any way that I can bring you back?” cried Chucky.

“No… there isn’t any way. I-I’m so sorry Ch-Chucky” cried Cathy.

They continued to embrace each other tightly with tears that rolled down their cheeks.

“Goodbye, Cathy”.

“Goodbye, Chucky”.

Cathy then took one look at Chucky and kissed him emotionally on the lips with so much passion within it as tears continued to stream heavily down their cheeks.

A few seconds later, Cathy floated away from Chucky’s arms as they broke their kiss and flew she off into the distance. Chucky’s tears grew heavier as she continued to float away. Cathy never took her eyes off him for one second as she left a trail of her tears behind.

“I love yooouuu!” she called back before she disappeared.
